Clinigence Joins Georgia Tech's ATDC

ATLANTA, April 12, 2010—Clinigence, LLC, a health information technology focused on the development of clinical business intelligence tools for healthcare providers, today announced that it has joined Georgia Tech's Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC).

"This is my second venture at ATDC," said Kobi Margolin - Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Clinigence. "I believe the proximity to Georgia Tech and the wonderful facilities and breadth of services available to ATDC companies will be invaluable to us as we build another excellent health information technology company."

Margolin is a serial health information technology entrepreneur who came to Atlanta in 1999 to run US Operations for Israel-based Algotec Systems—a medical imaging company he had co-founded a few years earlier. Algotec was acquired in 2004 by Eastman Kodak. In 2005, Margolin joined Accelarad - an ATDC company—and led its market expansion as it graduated from ATDC and through 2008. In 2009, Margolin conceived of Clinigence.

"When I started my career in health information technology, I was blessed with the opportunity to combine academic studies—an M.S. degree in Medical Physics from Tel-Aviv University—with entrepreneurship and industry experience. With Georgia Tech's new focus on medical informatics, I hope we can create similar synergies for local students. Joining ATDC is a step towards achieving this vision," said Margolin.

About ATDC

ATDC is a startup accelerator that helps Georgia technology entrepreneurs launch and build successful companies. Founded in 1980, ATDC has helped create millions of dollars in tax revenues by graduating more than 120 companies, which together have raised more than a billion dollars in outside financing.

Recently ATDC expanded its mission by merging with Georgia Tech’s VentureLab and with the Georgia SBIR Assistance Program. The change enables ATDC to greatly extend its reach to serve more technology companies along multiple growth paths and at all stages of development. ATDC has opened its membership to all technology entrepreneurs in Georgia, from those at the earliest conception stage to the well-established, venture-fundable companies.

ATDC is part of the Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI2) at Georgia Tech, which helps Georgia enterprises improve their competitiveness through the application of science, technology and innovation. ATDC currently has three facilities; two at Georgia Tech’s main campus in Atlanta, and one at Georgia Tech’s satellite campus in Savannah.
